Seismic
Project Management
Degeconek started business in this area in 1993. Since then we have expanded our range of services to cover all aspects of planning and executing a successful 2D/3D seismic campaign for clients who may not have all the required personnel in-house to handle such projects completely.
Our services in this area cover the following:-
a.) Provision of
a project manager (senior geophysicist cadre – 10 to 15
years experience) who will be based in client’s office. In
agreement with the client’s objective, his job will involve
the following tasks:-

Plan & design acquisition & processing parameters for the 3D
survey

Initiate
call for tenders to acquisition and processing contractors

Evaluate
bids received and analyze such bids and
-
Recommend
contractor(s)

Organize
all operational meetings with contractor and manage the seismic
campaign within approved budget.

Collate
all reports to client management

Design a
processing sequence
b.) Surveying and Geophysical Quality Assurance/QC
Consultants to represent clients’ interest during the
seismic data acquisition and processing of same.
We are currently in discussion with a seismic acquisition company for partnership to bring land and swamp seismic crews to Nigeria.
Software: OMNI for 3D seismic acquisition design and QC and
VISTA & PROMAX for seismic processing QC services.
Asset
Evaluation
In 1998, as a wholly-owned indigenous company in Nigeria, we
pioneered seismic and petrophysical interpretation services using computer workstation in Nigeria. The first system we acquired was a
SunSparc20 workstation running on Landmark applications.
Today, the centre is equipped with four Unix-based
workstations running on Landmark and two PC-based systems
with Fugro-Jason’s applications. Other peripherals at the
center include HP 800CM plotter, Printer, A0 Scanner,
Neuralog Scanner and tape drives.
We are the leading geoscience evaluations consultancy firm
in Nigeria performing full geoscience data evaluations,
static modeling, volumetric calculation and economic
analysis. Our client list covers all categories of E & P
companies operating in Nigeria.
We are currently in discussion with reputable reservoir
engineering companies for possible partnerships to extend
our capabilities to the area of dynamic simulation and full
field development plan.
We also screen the assets available for bid for companies
participating in licensing round for new blocks or marginal
fields.
Digitization &
Tape Copying
Using software from Lynx information Systems, we provide
scanning and digitization of paper/sepia copies of well log
curves, maps and seismic sections. We also duplicate 8mm
tapes and transcribe data from one medium to another and
generate various databases.
Due Diligence for Financial Institutions
In 2002, we commenced working for financial institutions and investors to provide a wide range of services as follows:
Act as Technical Consultant to the Bank on Upstream project financing
- Conduct technical/economic due diligence on financing marginal field development
- Conduct technical/economic due diligence on the financing signature bonus for oil blocks
- Conduct technical/economic due diligence on the financing of specific projects such as seismic, drilling, gas plants & facilities, pipeline etc.
- Conduct reserve audit
- Monitoring & post-project assessment
Onsite
Support, Workstation and Rental & Training
In 1994, we commenced Onsite seismic interpretation
services using client’s own computer workstations. This
provides the flexibility for real time contribution to the
evaluation being done. In 2001 we expanded this to include
renting workstation and personnel to operate it to the
smaller or newly start-up companies. With these
flexibilities, we are also able to offer in-house training
and mentoring to such client’s staff
